This online Forensic Directory of Secure Mental Health Services within the United Kingdom has been provided by St Andrew’s Healthcare. It takes its inspiration from the directory previously published by the Social Work Department at Rampton Hospital. Launched on 1st August 2005, the online directory can be found at www.theforensicdirectory.info
The Forensic Directory is aimed at psychiatric service professionals, social workers, case managers, commissioners of services and other interested personnel. We wish the directory to provide an up to date resource that details Forensic and other Secure Mental Health Services in the UK provided by both the NHS and Independent Sectors.
Information provided includes:
Name and address of services
Services provided (including security type)
Number of beds and service type
Contacts
Dependent on requests and suggestions, other features and information can be added later.
The directory will take time to develop to its full potential. If you are able to identify units that have yet to be included, please do not hesitate to use the ‘contact us’ feature within the website to make us aware of what and where those services are, to enable their data to be captured and the directory to be as comprehensive as possible.
